It all began in December 2019, when the Juarez family opened their first restaurant, Mang-kuk. Run by Jasper, the eldest son of Joe & Sha, and operated alongside his brother Joshua, Mang-kuk brought heartfelt Filipino flavors to the community. Then the world changed. Through the trials of the COVID pandemic, Mang-kuk stood strong — a symbol of family, resilience, and hope. But in July 2022, the doors closed, and with it came a season of uncertainty for the Juarez family.

Yet, from hardship came a new beginning. In June 2025, Kanami was born.

Kanami isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a reflection of everything the Juarez family stands for. Named after their spirit of renewal, Kanami embodies the same hospitality, joy, and warmth they set out to share from the very beginning. Kanami carries the heart of J&S — a place where every dish tells a story, every smile is genuine, and every guest feels at home.
